NXT superstar Dexter Lumis re-debuted a few weeks ago and was portrayed as a disturbing psychopath who never blinks and cradles his victims after choking them out. Viewers of both shows will notice how much he acts like Billy from Season 3 and while WWE will likely not directly mention the show due to potential copyright issues, it is very clear where the inspiration came from. He doesn’t blink, he doesn’t seem to register pain, and he will wait for you to try to strike you before picking you apart. There hasn't been such a character in NXT probably since the Wyatt family was called up. If there’s any brand in WWE that could pull off something like a Dexter Lumis, it’s NXT. Lars Sullivan would fill that role, but he has been off TV for nearly a year now. The former Samuel Shaw was inserted into a rivalry with the Undisputed Era during Velveteen Dream's pursuit of the NXT Championship. He defeated Atlas by submission, and then cradled his body in his arms. Can Dexter Lumis Become The Monster Heel WWE Is Missing? WWE legend and NXT trainer Shawn Michaels was full of praise for the Superstar and touted him to be one of the three superstars who could take NXT to the next level. Over the past few weeks, he has destroyed Jake Atlas and Tehuti Miles, with a new haunting persona. He recently defeated UE member Roderick Strong at NXT's night 1 of the two-part The Great American Bash program. They would have built up for the Heroic Babyface to take down, be that Roman Reigns, John Cena, or Hulk Hogan. Formerly known as Samuel Shaw in Impact Wrestling where he played a character like that of Patrick Batemen from American Psycho. Since getting access to the internet, he's watched more wrestling than he could ever remember from all around the world. NXT is clearly hoping that this will be the case for Dexter Lumis as well. Even Road Dogg, who works closely with the Black and Gold brand, heaped praises on Dexter Lumis for his character-driven work.
