When Christian Andrews gets a call to attend the funeral of a friend in an obscure New Mexico town, he has no choice but to immediately hitchhike his way there. He meets the family who owns the ranch and inevitability becomes immediately interested in dating the oldest daughter and decides he wants to start building a chapel on the ranch. They have a lot of ambitions and want to try different things (sometimes), but they have no foundation or basis for what they do. It’s so vanilla that it lacks the typical worldview-pushing of a fundamentalist Christian film and the predictable elements of an inspirational horse film, even though on the surface it looks like it is both of these. Amazed By You {The Faith Club} (Movie Review), Follow Box Office Revolution on WordPress.com, Following the Subplots of The Chosen (Season 1, Mid-Season Update), The Second Coming of Christ [2018] (Movie Review), The Ultimate Legacy {The Gift of a Legacy} (Movie Review), The Nature of Fragile Things by Susan Meissner (February 2, 2021), Denounced: Rise of the Horsemen (Movie Review), Can I Get a Witness Protection? Each character comes off as plastic, empty, and unfeeling as they just spout uninspiring lines. Nevertheless, he decides to take the opportunity to go and stay at the ranch where his friend once lived, even though he has never met the ranch owners before. It really isn’t rooted in reality very well, and the plot has no clear flow or purpose other than a predictable romantic subplot. Also, there are a lot of awkward cuts and fadeouts and seem to cut scenes short, which also relates to the choppy editing of this movie that makes it difficult to follow at times. Exactly, what is the plot of this movie? He meets the family who owns the ranch and inevitability becomes immediately interested in dating the oldest daughter and decides he wants to start building a chapel on the ranch. Cornelius Barlow is a devious politician who has had a vendetta against organized religion ever since his daughter was killed by a cult. (Movie Review), Heavenquest: A Pilgrim’s Progress (Movie Review). Everyone loves a good twist ending. (Movie Review), Heavenquest: A Pilgrim’s Progress (Movie Review). In summary, in nearly every aspect, it’s impossible to understand how this film came to be or what it was even going for. From start to finish, the story is hard to follow as odd things appear to just happen for no particular reason. If this was an attempt to make some quick cash off of inspirational audiences, the marketing really wasn’t that great. Overall, this is mostly a half-hearted movie effort with no clear direction and no concerted attempts to make characters into real people. In the end, the story ends in a very awkward and abrupt fashion that makes it even more unclear why this movie was even made. Amazed by You is a film directed by Mark Hannah with Jesse Stoudt, Richard Pryor Jr., Chuck Williams, Timothy E. Goodwin .... Year: 2017. There are too many vague ideas that are started without backup or follow-through, and sequences of boring activities are used in place of actual conversations between characters that could help us get to know them as people.
